pretty little girl voices, poltergeists from behind a screen. psychedelic vermin. we walk the night as villains no longer.

and I'm crouching somewhere in a strange bright dark full of stars and wind. eyes dazed, disorientated, in sockets bruised yellowblack. exotic makeup.

View of the gallery at night from across the street; the windows are covered in reflective mylar

A person in black latex and a blue wig stands partially obscured by a mirrored column

A piece by Dese Escobar: a makeup palette hangs on a mirror; one corner is melted and twisted

A projector hangs next to the mirrored column

The projector is pointed and the mirror, so the projection, a video by Orphan Drift, is reflected back onto the wall behind

A stack of stapled printer paper sits on top of a speaker on the floor

Two speakers sit in space, their copper speaker wire trailing up to the ceiling. In the background sits a sculpture by Danica Barboza

A sculpture by Danica Barboza: looks like a giant banana bi-sected by a purple cloud

A fluorescent lightbulb is wrapped in mylar

A sculpture by Danica Barboza: a silver face surrounded by a heavy plaster cloud

The back of the sculpture: under the cloud there are folds of purple fabric and blue paint

A person in black latex and a blue wig stands beside a mirrored column

A photo of a video by Bailey Scieszka: a drawing in colored pencil

A photo of a video by Bailey Scieszka: the artist as “Old Put”

A wall work by Jessie Stead: a print of a real doll face covered partially by files, as if on a desktop background

A corset lies in the windowsill, reflected in the mylar behind it

A blurry photo of a person in black latex and a blue wig looking at themselves in a mirror

Fluorescent light bulbs wrapped in mylar

The top of a sculpture by Valerie Keane: a piece of cut acrylic is pierced by many small pieces of metal

Green ribbons cascade down onto an orb-like sculpture by Raffaella Hanley

Hanley’s sculpture is covered in flowers, feathers, and shiny fabric

The sculpture is smashed open on one side

Keane’s sculpture casts a line drawing-like shadow on the wall behind it

A wide shot of the room; it is dim, lit only by the projection and a few fluorescents
